CALIFORNIA – St. Benoit Creamery’s organic dairy products was recognized with a sofi™ Award, which recognizes the top dairy products in the $158 billion specialty food industry, for the second year in a row.

St. Benoit’s Organic French Vanilla Yogurt and Organic Plain Yogurt won gold and silver, respectively, in the Yogurt & Kefir category. This year, nearly 1,500 competitors went head to head in 49 different categories, with 130 organizations emerging as winners in various contests.

“We are thrilled St. Benoit Creamery Organic French Vanilla Yogurt and Organic Plain Yogurt have both won sofi™ Awards,” said Sales Director Felice Thorpe. “To be recognized by the industry for our commitment to quality and flavor is a big honor. The sofi™ Awards are the ultimate stamp of approval. We look forward to sharing our sustainable dairy delicacies with even more consumers this year.”

The 2021 sofi™ judging took place in April at the Rutgers Food Innovation Center in New Jersey. Panels of culinary experts sampled hundreds of various dairy products to determine the winners. The judges looked for unique flavors, textures, appearance and aromas, and took ingredient quality and innovation into consideration before selecting winners. The event followed strict safety guidelines set in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

St. Benoit Creamery Organic French Vanilla and Organic Plain Yogurt contain no fillers, stabilizers or excessive sweeteners but rather are organic, full-fat, and contain pasture-raised Jersey cow’s milk and gut-friendly live and active cultures. While the plan and french vanilla flavors are what took home the awards, St. Benoit also offers meyer lemon and strawberry flavored organic yogurts.

All of St. Benoit Creamery’s dairy products are made with milk rich in A2 protein that comes from a single herd of Jersey cows in Sonoma County. The milk is minimally processed 26 miles away at a facility that St. Benoit Creamery shares with their sister brand Laura Chenel, the first LEED Gold-certified creamery in the U.S., where solar power, water recycling systems and other sustainable measures decrease reliance on fossil fuels and reduce waste. All dairy products are packaged in reusable, recyclable glass jars.

In 2020, St. Benoit Creamery received an award for its TCHO Chocolate Organic Pot de Crème Dessert, which won for best new product. That same year, they also won Mindful Awards Program Yogurt of the Year prize for their commitment to conscious packaging and sustainability.
