PETALUMA, CALIF. — Organic dairy maker Straus Family Creamery debuted the newest addition to its premium ice cream line, gluten-free Cookie Dough.

The sustainability-focused company said its ice cream uses milk from family dairy farms along the Northern California coast, and its new flavor features chunks of gluten-free cookie dough and chocolatey chips mixed into a sweet cream base.

Straus Family Creamery said Cookie Dough is its third gluten-free creation, following the previous releases of Lemon Cookie and Cookies & Cream.

“This is a flavor we've long wanted to create,” said Albert Straus, the creamery’s founder, “and after extensive recipe development by our team, the result is delicious. In addition, it showcases the truly rich taste of high-quality organic milk and cream from our organic dairies, all while supporting our mission to sustain family farms.”

The company said its Cookie Dough ice cream would be sold nationally at Sprouts Farmers Market locations, as well as regionally at a variety of grocery stores.

Straus Family Creamery shared that it uses cream high in butterfat and a churning process for making ice cream that results in a creamy and smooth texture, using only egg yolks as a stabilizer.

The company said its overall approach focuses on organic, regenerative and carbon neutral practices at the 12 dairy farms that supply Straus Family Creamery, which aims to achieve on-farm carbon neutrality by 2030.
