SEATTLE — Farmer-owned dairy cooperative Darigold, Inc., increased the scope of its portfolio, launching its first protein shakes.
A marketing and processing subsidiary of the Northwest Dairy Association, the company said the ready-to-drink beverages offer 30 grams of protein per serving.
Debuting in chocolate and vanilla varieties, Darigold Protein Shakes aim to meet demand for protein-packed beverages, with the dairy cooperative citing research from Mordor Intelligence that estimated the market for ready-to-drink protein beverages at $1.8 billion internationally and expected to reach $2.6 billion by 2030.
"For us, every day is an adventure to be savored – whether it's the dash to the next soccer game, impromptu dance party or catching the last few minutes of a perfect sunset – and Darigold is your go-to sidekick to make those moments better," marketing director Boyd Tubbs said. "To delightfully fuel your daily adventures, our new Protein Shakes are made with deliciously smooth real milk and other real ingredients, taste great, and provide the nutrition people need to fuel their everyday lives."
Darigold noted that the new lactose-free shakes contain essential amino acids, electrolytes, and vitamins and minerals, with no added sugar.
The shakes rolled out at select retailers, as well as online via Amazon.
