BEVERLY, MASS. — International process measurement instrumentation supplier Krohne shared that advanced instrumentation benefits not only an operation’s throughput and quality, but also its sustainability.

The company said its measurement solutions help processors optimize efficiency, reduce waste and increase output, as well as maintain consistency in product quality, meet hygiene standards and comply with regulatory demands.

Specific sustainability attributes, Krohne noted, include real-time monitoring of energy consumption, which allows companies to identify inefficiencies and optimize processes. The supplier pointed to improved process control corresponding with fewer off-spec products and reduced rework.

Krohne also said precise measurements support sustainable practices in agriculture and water management.

The company’s portfolio of instruments includes flow measurement devices – magmeters, ultrasonic meters, vortex meters and Coriolis mass flowmeters – and level measurement tools, such as radar level sensors for tanks and silos.

Within the food and beverage industry, Krohne shared that its magmeters measure the flow of milk and juice, for example. And it said in chocolate production, single straight tube Coriolis mass flowmeters offer precise dosing of ingredients.

Krohne said it anticipates further innovations in digital technology to bolster processes in the future, with advancements in data-driven decision making, predictive maintenance, automation and remote monitoring.
