WHITE PLAINS, NY — Danone North America brought its Oikos brand to a new category, launching Oikos Protein Shakes.

The Greek yogurt maker noted this marks the brand’s first product outside of the dairy aisle. The shelf stable and gluten-free shakes – made with milk protein concentrate and micellar casein isolate – debuted in chocolate, vanilla and salted caramel flavors.

Each shake offers 30 grams of protein, 5 grams of prebiotic fiber, 1 gram of sugar and vitamins A and D.

“Protein isn’t just a necessity for gym-goers looking to up their gains — it’s also for people with on-the-go lifestyles who are looking for an easy and convenient way to incorporate a nutritious protein boost into their everyday hustle,” said Rafael Acevedo, president and general manager of yogurt at Danone North America.

The shakes are packaged in 12 oz bottles and may be purchased at select retailers throughout the United States.

The launch of Oikos protein shakes follows a successful first quarter for the brand.
