DENVER, CO – Ascent Protein, one of the nation’s top sports nutrition companies, announced a new line of organic, plant-based protein powders. Aimed at supporting muscle health and athletic performance, Ascent’s Plant Protein is the newest addition to the company’s growing product line.

Ascent has partnered with Whole Foods to bring plant-based customers a protein that is suitable for vegans and supports muscle health.

“We are thrilled to partner with Whole Foods on the new line of Ascent plant-based protein,” said Josh Haskins, director of sales for Ascent. “We know their high bar for clean ingredients, efficacy and taste matches our own. We believe that this new plant protein will change the conversation for athletes looking for plant-based options. With Ascent, consumers no longer need to compromise on taste or performance.”

Ascent's Plant Protein is made from a blend of three plant protein sources – pea, sunflower and pumpkin. The protein is formulated to provide four grams of BCAAs, including two grams of leucine, the key amino acid to stimulate muscle protein synthesis. By conducting third-party consumer research, Ascent confirmed that their plant-based protein is significantly preferred in taste against the market leader.

In addition to offering 25 grams of organic plant-based protein with zero artificial ingredients, Ascent Plant Protein is Certified Organic, certified gluten-free and Informed Sport Certified.  Ascent Plant Protein is also vegan, soy-free, dairy-free and contains no added sugars.

”We are excited to partner with Ascent on this new line and offer our consumers a plant-based protein that is formulated for athletes who want efficacious, clean ingredients – that also tastes amazing," said Casey Gaston, senior category merchant for sports nutrition and weight management at Whole Foods Market. “We are grateful to partner with a brand like Ascent who is as dedicated to offering high-quality, cleaner and better-tasting products to their athletes as we are at Whole Foods Market.”

Ascent Protein is trusted by some of the world’s best athletes, including All Pro running back Christian McCaffrey, two-time CrossFit Games Champion Katrin Davidsdottir, and Team USA Weightlifting athletes CJ Cummings and Jourdan Delacruz. Ascent is also the first-ever performance nutrition partner of USA Weightlifting.

Ascent’s Plant Protein is now available for purchase at Whole Foods nationwide, as well as on ascentprotein.com and Amazon.com. All locations will carry both plant flavors in Chocolate and Vanilla Bean.
