NEW YORK – Low-sugar dessert manufacturer Enlightened debuted two limited time, fall ice cream flavors: Bake the World a Better Place and Pumpkin Cheesecake.

A pecan pie-inspired ice cream featuring crispy pecans, pieces of pie crust and a honey swirl, Bake the World a Better Place doubles as a fundraiser for Diversify Dietetics.

Enlightened revealed that 100% of the profits from the sales of the special flavor will go to the nonprofit organization, which aims to increase racial and ethnic diversity in the nutrition field by empowering leaders of color.

"Unfortunately, there just isn't enough ethnic and racial representation in the field of nutrition," said Michael Shoretz, Enlightened’s chief executive officer. "As a company that believes in better health for all, we recognize that reaching every community and culture requires representation. Our donation will help Diversify Dietetics fund future registered dietitians' education programs to further their mission of increasing diversity in the dietetic industry."

Enlightened first began partnering with Diversify Dietetics in 2021, when it gave a $50,000 grant to support educating a new generation of diverse dietitians.

The company’s other fall flavor, Pumpkin Cheesecake, features a light pumpkin ice cream with cheesecake chunks. It contains 120 calories per serving and, per Enlightened, 75% less sugar than full-sugar pumpkin ice creams.

Both of the limited edition flavors are sold in 14 oz tubs, with an MSRP between $5.99 and $6.99. They are available to buy at select retailers, as well as through Enlightened’s online shop.
