TURLOCK, CALIF. – Valley Milk LLC revealed it will make a 10,000-square foot expansion at its powdered milk ingredient processing facility.

Owned by five multi-generational California dairy families from the state’s Central Valley, as well as other dairy professionals, the company shared it plans to start producing anhydrous milk fat at the Turlock, Calif., facility in 2024.

While announcing the expansion project, Valley Milk said a number of its customers in the United States have made it known there is a need for “high quality” anhydrous milk fat for ice cream and confectionary businesses. Upon the project’s completion, the company will be able to sell the product in drums, totes and, eventually, pails for industrial and food service customers.

Valley Milk chief executive officer Glenn Wallace said strategic opportunities to export anhydrous milk fat also exist within the international market.

Added chairman Don Machado: “We are excited about the continued growth of our customer relationships, and the AMF project will allow us to provide an additional line of product to market domestically and into the world market.”
