MALONE, WIS. – Goat cheese maker LaClare Creamery picked up a best of class award for its Fig & Honey Goat Cheese at the 2023 United States Championship Cheese Contest.

The cheese received a score of 99.275, securing first place in the category for soft goat’s milk cheeses flavored with sweet condiments.

In total, the US Championship Cheese Contest, hosted by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, received 2,249 entries from 197 dairy companies and cooperatives.
