WATERLOO, WIS. – Three Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese products picked up first-place awards at the 2023 World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest.

Judges at the contest, sponsored by the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association (WDPA), deemed Crave Brothers’ Chocolate Mascarpone, Fresh Mozzarella and Oaxaca were the best in their respective classes.

Along with those three first-place awards, the cheese producer received both second and third place in the string class for two varieties of its string cheese.

"It's an honor to be recognized in a competition with such strong producers," said Beth Crave, the company’s director of quality and customer service. "The ability to contribute to dairy education in our communities by participating in the auction is invaluable and a mark of the positive impact of Wisconsin's dairy industry."

Crave Brothers describes its award-winning Chocolate Mascarpone as a product that “adds an elegant touch to everyday recipes,” such as fruit trays and desserts.

Based in Waterloo, Wis., the Crave farm and its cheesemaking business use 100% green power and are carbon negative.

WDPA’s national competition this year received entries from 43 states, with products in 96 classes. A complete list of top-three finishers from each class is available at the World Dairy Expo page on WDPA’s website.
