TILLAMOOK, ORE. –  The Webby Awards presented two of its new Gold Anthem Awards to Tillamook County Creamery Association.

The farmer-owned co-op’s social impact campaign, “All For Farmers,” garnered the highest honors in two diversity, equity and inclusion categories: Best Fundraising Model and Best Brand Campaign.

The Webby Awards’ newest initiative, the Anthem Awards recognize the social good work being done by organizations, brands and people all over the world.

Tillamook in 2020 began a partnership with the American Farmland Trust (AFT), a not-for-profit organization working to save farms and ranches. Through the “All For Farmers” campaign, Tillamook contributed $1.6 million from its product sales in September 2020 to AFT.

The 113-year-old Oregon-based co-op also worked with AFT to create the Brighter Future Fund, a microgrant program which supports farmers, especially those historically marginalized within the industry.

Among the first 130 farmers to benefit from the fund, 96% are underserved or underrepresented farmers – female, non-binary, LGBTQ+, BIPOC and beginning farmers. Further breaking down the numbers, 74% are female, 70% are first-time farmers and 60% identify as LGBTQ+ or BIPOC.

The success of the fund led Tillamook to continue in the endeavor in 2021, and the co-op underwrote all programmatic costs for two more years. Since the Brighter Future Fund was established, Tillamook and AFT have raised more than $2.7 million to the benefit of nearly 300 farmers in the US.

"Stewardship is at the heart of everything we do here at (Tillamook)," said Kate Boltin, vice president of brand marketing for the company. "Our commitment to both the future of farming, and inclusion and diversity extends beyond our company operations, employees and farms. It's reflected in our ‘All For Farmers’ program, and we're honored that our efforts to continue supporting America's farmers are recognized by the esteemed panel of judges for the Anthem Awards."

Anthem Winners are selected via independent evaluation by members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Winners for the inaugural Anthem Awards will be celebrated at the first annual Anthem Voices conference, followed by a virtual Awards Show on Feb. 28.
