MADISON, WIS. – Gold medal cheeses from the 2024 World Championship Cheese Contest will be up for grabs during one night of the upcoming CheeseExpo, hosted by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA).

Dairy processing and supplier professionals attending CheeseExpo in Milwaukee (April 16-18) are invited to bid on this year’s award-winning products, including the reigning world champion, Hornbacher, from Switzerland-based Gourmino and renowned cheesemaker Michael Spycher. The reception and auction are scheduled for April 17 at the Baird Center.

"The annual Championship Cheese Auction is an industry favorite for good reason: it’s an energy-packed opportunity to honor the achievements of the global dairy community and secure a strong future for the next generation of industry leaders,” said John Umhoefer, executive director for WCMA. “Don't miss it – get your bidding paddles ready.”

WCMA said the money it brings in at its cheese auctions supports students approaching dairy processing, providing them with scholarships, and also funds WCMA’s training programs for dairy manufacturers and suppliers.

The complete bid sheet for this year’s auction is posted to WCMA’s website, where the organization also has details on the full CheeseExpo schedule. WCMA said those registered for the dairy industry event get access to hundreds of supplier exhibits, educational seminars led by dairy processing experts and numerous networking opportunities.
