GREENWOOD, WIS. – Grassland Dairy Products, Inc. recently announced it acquired Medlee Foods, LLC.

Through the purchase, Grassland Specialty Brands, LLC (GSB) will sell and market Medlee products, as well as Grassland branded butter products.

Grasslands also announced that Albert Valdes, Medlee’s president and chief executive officer, will assume the role of president and CEO of the reporting unit, and report to Leon Gregorich, CEO of Grassland Dairy.

“I am happy to welcome the Medlee team to Grassland,” Gregorich said. “With the creation of GSB, the brand and team will bring a dedicated focus to the company’s strategic initiative started two years ago.”

Added Valdes: “We are excited to have found in Grassland a partner that valued our vision and provided resources and support to further the growth of the brand.”

A privately owned butter producer, Grassland Dairy Products, Inc. was established by the Wuethrich family in 1904, and the company works with Wisconsin dairy farmers.

Trevor Wuethrich, president and fourth generation family member, said of acquiring Medlee: “I am excited to see the product innovation, go to market strategies and marketing efforts from GSB for the advancement of the brands.”

Valdes and Medlee Foods’ team of founders established the company in 2017, and began selling butters for cooking. Medlee markets a Farmhouse Butter that is made with 100% upcycled whey cream. Medlee also sells seasoned butters, a seasoned vegan blend, sweet butter spreads and seasonal butter.
