CHICAGO – Attendees at this year’s PACK EXPO International chose four innovative solutions as the winners of the 2022 Technology Excellence Awards.
PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, revealed during the event at McCormick Place the winners, as determined by voters, in four categories: Berry Global, Inc.’s Proxima tethered closure (food and beverage), IMA North America, Inc.’s Ilapak Vegatronic 6400 (general packaging and processing), Graphic Packaging International’s ClipCombo (sustainability) and Eurotol’s CueSee Mix/Dual Chambered Device (personal care/pharmaceuticals).
Industry professionals attending PACK EXPO voted to decide the award winners, choosing among three finalists in each category. The finalists had exhibits on display at the trade show, which showcased the innovations.
Berry Global’s Proxima tethered closure enhances the recyclability of the closure, cutting down on waste by securing the closure to the bottle.
“To help our customers meet the growing sustainability demands of today and tomorrow, we develop new products and materials that are designed to advance a pathway to circularity,” said Jean-Marc Galvez, president of the consumer packaging international division at Berry Global. “As we push the limits of innovation with creative, sustainable packaging solutions, it is an honor to be recognized by our peers and other packaging experts.”
IMA’s Ilapak Vegatronic 6400 is a continuous motion vertical bagging machine that the company developed to meet the sanitary design, accessibility, fast changeover and OEE needs of demanding industries.
Graphic Packaging International’s ClipCombo is a machinery solution which allows companies to run two different paper-based multipack styles on the same machine.
