TILLAMOOK, ORE. – Debuting in a new product category, Tillamook County Creamery Association announced the launch of its frozen macaroni & cheese and frozen pizza.
The Oregon-based cooperative, which said its new products were developed using chef-inspired recipes, is rolling out four flavors of Crispy Stone-Fired Pizzas and three varieties of Mac & Cheese.
Josh Archibald, Tillamook’s executive chef of culinary development, said the products spotlight the brand’s award-winning cheeses.
“The entire culinary team worked hard to create these recipes, so they taste like a meal you'd enjoy at the Tillamook Creamery – now in the comfort of your own home,” Archibald said.
Already available in frozen sections at select Target and Walmart locations, the Mac & Cheese comes in Classic Cheddar, Sharp Cheddar & Uncured Bacon, and Cheddar & Hatch Chile. Tillamook shared that the frozen meals are made with al dente jumbo macaroni noodles, creamy sauces and the cooperative’s cheeses. The products are being sold in both single-serve and multi-serve sizes.
The Classic Cheddar has a sauce made with Tillamook’s aged medium and sharp cheddar cheeses and is topped with its Farmstyle Shredded Cheese, as well as crushed pretzels and herbs.
The Sharp Cheddar & Uncured Bacon variety sauce is made with aged sharp white cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, with Farmstyle Shredded Cheese on top, along with uncured bacon bites and crispy onions.
The Cheddar & Hatch Chile flavor features an aged sharp white cheddar and jack cheese sauce and is topped with the same shredded cheese as the others, to go with its Hatch green chilies and crispy crumbled cornbread toppings.
Tillamook senior director of research and development Steve Marko described the Mac & Cheese flavors as decadent.
"It's become a staple on our menu and folks travel from miles around to get a taste – to say it's a fan favorite is an understatement,” Marko said. “We couldn't be more excited to bring that very special, sought-after recipe to the masses with our new line of Mac & Cheese."
The brand’s new frozen pizzas are topped with Tillamook’s medium yellow cheddar, whole-milk mozzarella and Monterey Jack. The debut flavors are Cheesy Uncured Pepperoni, Three Cheese, Three Cheese Supreme and Cheesy BBQ Chicken.
Tillamook said its Crispy Stone-Fired Pizzas will launch in October at select retail locations.
