CHICAGO – The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA), its foundation and Process Expo exhibitors donated $75,000 this year to the Greater Chicago Food Depository as part of the trade association’s Defeat Hunger campaign.

FPSA shared that the donation also included thousands of turkeys and an abundance of healthy pizzas. The organization said over the course of 10 years, its Defeat Hunger campaign has provided more than 2 million meals to families in Chicago.

The Foundation of the FPSA’s chairman, Weber, Inc., chief executive officer Jarrod McCarroll, said it was important to give back to the community that hosts Process Expo. McCarroll said the Greater Chicago Food Depository is an integral organization within the metropolitan area.

The food bank operates throughout Cook County, Ill., to support a network of pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, mobile programs and children’s initiatives.
