BRENHAM, TEXAS – Ice cream manufacturer Blue Bell Creameries introduced Jimmy Lawhorn as the company’s new president.

Lawhorn replaced former president Ricky Dickson, who retired after 43 years with the company.

A 26-year veteran of Blue Bell, Lawhorn was promoted after serving most recently as vice president of sales and marketing. Per the company, he oversaw the planning and implementation of sales and marketing programs, advertising and public relations in that role.

Blue Bell’s leadership also credited Lawhorn with playing a crucial part in the company’s plans to expand. Through the years, he also took on roles as Blue Bell’s territory manager, sales manager, branch manager, region manager, corporate sales manager and general sales manager.

“Jimmy is an accomplished and visionary leader who brings a wealth of experience to his new role,” said Jim Kruse, chairman of the board for Blue Bell. “With Jimmy’s proven track record of strategic development and driving growth and innovation, we are confident the company will continue to be a beloved, high-quality brand for our customers.”

Former Blue Bell president Dickson noted he worked with Lawhorn for 20-plus years.

“Jimmy is intelligent, determined and humble,” Dickson said. “He is a man of integrity and loves his family and community. I could not be more pleased that he will be the next leader of Blue Bell.”
