COVINGTON, KY. – Processing and packaging machinery manufacturer ProMach announced it acquired conveyor and container handling machinery manufacturer Sentry Equipment & Erectors Inc.

ProMach noted the acquisition expanded its portfolio, giving it more systems integration solutions to offer. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

Upon adding Sentry to its business, ProMach shared that the “entire” Sentry team would join ProMach’s systems and integration business line.

Based in Forest, Va., Sentry makes conveyance solutions, such as table-top conveyors for bottles and cans, case and pallet conveyors, neck-guided air conveyors, and accumulation conveyors. ProMach also noted that Sentry manufactures packaging equipment for case and bulk palletizing, de-palletizing, and robotic systems, and that the company offers packaging line design, engineering services, project management and electrical controls guidance.

Mark Anderson, president and chief executive officer at ProMach, said the company was pleased to welcome Sentry and its employees.

“The addition of Sentry further strengthens our position as one of the industry’s leading suppliers of systems integration solutions, but this acquisition also allows us to add key products to ProMach’s overall packaging equipment portfolio,” Anderson said. “Most importantly, this acquisition further supports our strategic vision of providing North American customers with complete solutions and support from a strong North American partner.”

Ryan McCart, ProMach’s systems and integration business unit president, said Sentry owns a reputation for designing “strong” solutions, manufacturing “high-quality” equipment and providing “exceptional” customer service.

“The addition of Sentry to our systems and integration team not only strengthens our conveyor and end-of-line packaging equipment portfolio, but it also significantly bolsters our overall systems integration capabilities,” McCart said. “Sentry has decades of packaging line design, project management and electrical controls experience that will complement our offering and allow us to continue providing industry-leading integrated systems for our customers.”

Sentry president Tim Woodson said the conveyor specialists are excited to join “the most respected packaging and process company in the industry.”

Woodson said: “ProMach has a proven track record of investing in their companies and leveraging their strengths to better serve customers. We strive to produce the highest quality products and provide our customers with solutions, and becoming part of ProMach will reinforce this. Our team will benefit from ProMach’s extensive portfolio of solutions and relationships, and we know that this move will ensure the continued growth of Sentry and provide even more opportunities for our team members.”
