TILLAMOOK, ORE. – Cocoa is king in the new curated chocolate ice cream collection from Tillamook County Creamery Association.

The Oregon-based dairy cooperative revealed that it launched new flavors specifically with chocolate lovers in mind and formulated the ice cream products with 45% more cocoa than the brand’s original chocolate ice cream. Tillamook said that tweak to the recipe delivered richer, darker and decadent flavors.

Debuting just ahead of Valentine’s Day, the newest ice cream flavors from Tillamook are Brownie Batter, Dark Chocolate Cookies & Cream, Chocolate Hazelnut and German Chocolate Cake.

"Our ice cream makers worked hard to source the perfect cocoa powder to bring the right balance of sweetness, bitter cocoa and flavor intensity to our new chocolate ice cream base," said Hunter Clayton, an ice cream scientist for Tillamook. "Our tastebuds also brought us to the kitchen to explore how decadent desserts could translate well into ice cream, which led to spending hours baking German chocolate cake and licking brownie batter off whisks – all in a day's work – to create a collection worthy of all chocolate lovers' desire."

In summer of 2023, Tillamook added to its ice cream line with a Neapolitan option, and also introduced limited edition seasonal flavors Orange and Cream, and Campfire Peanut Butter Cup.

The company’s ice cream products are sold throughout the United States at retailers such as Kroger, Albertsons, Safeway, Publix, Ahold Delhaize and others.
