Between the ingredient suppliers specializing in health and wellness, and the dietary supplement and food and beverage manufacturers, SupplySide West 2023 is expected to bring in more than 18,000 attendees, the tradeshow’s organizers shared.

As SupplySide West co-locates alongside Food ingredients North America (FiNA) in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay (Oct. 23-27), 1,000-plus suppliers and distributors from around the globe will exhibit their ingredients and services at the event, which is designed to connect them with CPG manufacturers, investors, retailers, distributors, health practitioners and food service professionals.

Showcasing dairy

The dairy industry will leave its footprint on the event, too, according to Laura Feroce, senior event marketing manager for Informa Markets, which creates the SupplySide platforms.

Feroce said numerous exhibitors from the dairy ingredients and solutions sectors will be part of the tradeshow, with OneDairy, Select Custom Solutions, AGROPUR, Milk Specialties Global, Idaho Milk Products, Hilmar, Edlong Corporation, and FrieslandCampina Ingredients North America, Inc., among those set to showcase their products.

What’s more, she shared that the event’s Tasting Bar will shine a spotlight on product prototypes, some of which incorporate the latest dairy ingredients, such as Idaho Milk Products’ IdaPlus 1090 Vanilla Clean Label Protein Shake.

“For those immersed in the food, beverage or personal care sectors, SupplySide West is an unmissable event,” Feroce said. “It serves as the ultimate platform to gain insights into the latest trends, innovations and technologies, while fostering invaluable connections with industry peers.”

Describing the scale and scope of the tradeshow as unparalleled, Feroce said it is North America’s largest and most comprehensive gathering for the food, beverage and personal care industries, with participants traveling in from more than 100 countries.

SupplySide West’s distinguishing features, she added, include its “exceptional content quality,” the way it showcases innovations and a prime location. Aside from the exhibits, various workshops and networking opportunities, the event also touts 14 in-depth education sessions, which Feroce said all involve industry leaders who are “exploring cutting-edge trends, regulatory updates and groundbreaking scientific discoveries.”

Education

The education sessions, planned to focus on hot industry topics and market trends, will include discussions on healthy aging, supply chain challenges, fermentation, beverage innovations, food science and sports nutrition, to name a few.

Plus, the show floor plan includes a stage dedicated to innovation, where exhibitors will highlight their latest products and technologies. Feroce said the presentations are there to expand people’s thinking and outline strategic tactics that will help businesses advance. She pointed to three particular sessions as examples of what to expect on the stage: “Muscle + Metabolic Health: Redefining the Future of Health Life Span,” “Adulteration Update: Specifications, detection and how you can help stop the resale of irreparably defective ingredients and products,” and “For the World Within: Cultivating a healthy gut with proven natural prebiotic fibers.”

Additionally, Feroce said SupplySide West, which is now in its 26th year, offers such benefits as connecting with potential customers and collaborators, opportunities to spot emerging trends and the potential to be inspired and/or motivated by the industry.

The teams that put together the show are excited to bring back some of their favorite features, Feroce shared. She said the New Product Zone emphasizes ingredients and finished products at the forefront of innovation. Meanwhile, the Tasting Bar allows attendees to not only see, but also touch and sample the latest functional foods and beverages. And Suppler Presentation Theaters are devoted to ingredients and service-specific science, applications, formulations, and marketing.

She also noted that the FiNA Theater will host interactive sessions during which attendees are encouraged to engage beyond the usual Q&A portion. Some of the scheduled sessions are “The future of food is upcycled: Meet 3 ingredients leading the way,” “Sweet Innovations: Chocolate, Confections & More” and “How to build a great tasting functional beverage.”
