DELFT, THE NETHERLANDS — Vivici BV is partnering with Ginkgo Bioworks to expand production of alternative dairy proteins produced using precision fermentation.
Vivici will use Ginkgo’s strain engineering, optimization and performance to develop and commercialize functional alternative proteins, the company said.
Through the partnership, Ginkgo said it also will design and build a library, screen for strains that offer the best protein expression, validate and grow promising hits, and then transfer the top performing strains to Vivici for evaluation.
An ingredients supplier for food and beverage brands, Vivici produces animal-free dairy proteins.
